SAA October 2006 Meeting

October 2006
Kimberly Anderson presented the program for the October 2006 meeting and explained how she arrives at what designs will be selling for the season when designing rugs for various markets Sandra Ford was the winner of Anne Brody Hills print that was donated with the proceeds going to the scholarship fund.

SAA Displays Art at the Historic Cumming Schoolhouse

May 2005
The SAA had a display of art at the restored 1923 Cumming Public School Building at 101 School Street, Cumming, Georgia. The old school has been turned into a beautiful performance hall that provides quality entertainment throughout the season offering plays, musicals, concerts, and catered fine dining on select performances. This is an important venue for the SAA to spread the appreciation of the visual arts to the community.

SAA awards Jennifer Yang 2003 Scholarship

June 2003
Jennifer Yang accepted the 2003 SAA Memorial Scholarship at the June meeting. Yang, a recent graduate of South Forsyth High School, was accompanied by her parents and her art instructor, Marie Patty (a member of SAA and recipient of one of the first SAA Scholarships). SAA Hosts 1st Annual Art Connection Tour

May 2003




SAA artist Irene Doehring exhibited both silk paintings and pen-and-ink drawings of local historical buildings.
Bryan White, SAA artist and owner of Whitelake Studio, displayed samples of his portrait work.
Mary Mills displayed wildlife pieces reminiscent of classic book illustrations alongside the 3-dimensional art of James De Sana.
Margaret Cameron also exhibited a lounge chair she refurbished. Margaret's hand-painted screen doors were recently featured in Southern Living magazine.



 
Amy Whitney Coe exhibited a large abstract piece in oils.
An ornately decorated jewel box was also on display.
Jerry Deeds exhibited a selection of framed and unframed photographs of his world travels.

SAA Artist Bill Davidson draws winner of a signed giclee

January 2003


Artist Bill Davidson donated a signed giclee to raise funds for the SAA Memorial Scholarship.
SAA President Ellen Anderson helps Bill draw the winner of the painting at the January meeting. Each $1 donation to the scholarship fund earned 1 entry in the random drawing.
Bill presented the giclee to the winner at the February meeting.

SAA Holiday Party

December 2002


SAA members donated art supplies to Jesse's House at the 2002 Holiday Party. Jesse's House helps battered women and children in Forsyth County.
SAA member Margaret Cameron provided lovely decorations in a western theme for this year's party.

Hamilton Gallery Grand Opening

September 2003

Tony Hamilton, husband of the late Ann Kolloch Hamilton, cut the ribbon to open the Gallery named in her honor.

Outdoor Art Sale at Paddywacks Gallery & Gifts

Paddywacks Gallery & Gifts in Buford hosted SAA's Summer Outdoor Art Sale.

The Paddywacks staff organized a bake sale to raise money for the SAA Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Bob Hammond's Oil Painting Class at SCAC

Summer 2001

SAA artist Bob Hammond taught a Beginning Oil Painting class at the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center. The class project was to paint a still life.
