The Sawnee Artists Association (SAA) was
founded in 1974 and continues to serve the Forsyth County
community as a 501 (c)(3)- 509(a)(2) non-profit organization. Our
mission is to provide enriching visual arts experiences for the
community.
As part of that mission, the SAA opened the Hamilton Gallery at
the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center in September 2002. The Hamilton
Gallery closed in October of 2005 with the sale of the SCAC to
Forsyth County.
The Sawnee
Artists Gallery opened in the events room of the Humpus
Bumpus Bookstore In November 2006 and continued operation until
January of 2009. Our thanks to owner Paul Cossman for allowing us
to use his facility.
After the closing of the gallery at Humpus Bumpus, Bob and Adrian Terie
stepped up and allowed us to hang our work in their restaurant, Hangry's, located
at 415 Peachtree Pkwy (Exit 13 on GA 400 across from the
Avenues).
The SAA also organizes shows and exhibits throughout the year,
including the annual Bellezza Exhibit.
The SAA also awards scholarships to promising Forsyth County high school
senior art students every spring.
Please attend our regular meetings on the fourth Monday of every
month at 6:30pm at the meeting room at McDonald and Sons Funeral
Home at 150 Sawnee Drive in Cumming. To learn more or click here to print a
membership application. |
